ABOUT the Project
“This day of CHANGE”
On January 20th, 2009, Barrack Obama became the 44th President of the United States of America. This inauguration of the first African American President marked a CHANGE in history. On that very day, News magazine COURRiER Japon decided to give out an assignment to some of the best photographers around the world, to capture what “HOPE” means to them. From Washington DC to a new-born baby in Palestine, environmental issues, each shared their vision of “HOPE”.
At the end, 132 photographers from 79 different countries participated and submitted their work. A photo-book, “This day of Change” was published by Kodansha in late April 2009.
