DIY - The Revolution Starts With You
Martin Reis & Yvonne Bambrick
Artist's Statement:
"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
R. Buckminster Fuller
The photos included in this submission explore the potential for change through
active citizen engagement in city building. We are the cities that we build but we also have the power to change them. It does not take much. Imagination, love, time and thoughtfulness. Little if no money is usually needed. Just the willingness to explore, open your mind to possibilities and be inspired by the world around and wonderful ideas. The images in the series speak volumes about what can be done to create a more human and inviting city. A place where the public sphere is open to personal interaction and experience: a new urban experience.
