Artist's Statement:
A city's iconography often includes animals indigenous to the region as a way of creating a sort of familiarity with its populace. The Gaming and Tourism Commission steps in to examine the relation between municipal and zoological concerns through photography, sculpture, performance, and a bit of fake fur.
Artist's Bio:
Carolyn Tripp is an artist and writer living in Toronto. A graduate of 2005, she attended the Art and Art History Program at the University of Toronto at Mississauga and the Sheridan Institute. Her work has been exhibited at The Kyber Centre (Halifax), the As Is Contemporary Space (Toronto), the AGYU (Toronto), and the Gladstone Hotel as part of upArt, 2008.
